The Kgagaladi is well-known for it's black maned lions. Actually, you can find lions with black manes in many other places as it is just a darker coloration mostly due to aging.

In any case, the park leaved up to its name during our trips and we saw these beautiful cats quite often during our stay late August, mainly around waterholes.

Ok, the Kalahari is well-know for its black maned lions, ut by now, you know me, I really wanted to see spotted hyaena sas well. And we got lucky as we bumped on them twice, resting just by the road. Both groups had young ones about 6 months old with them, so it was delightful to spend some time with them.

We found this cheetah family of a mother with 4 grown up cubs, resting in the shade by the side of the road. It was late afternoon, so after rolling down, stretching and scanning the surroundings, they set off for prey while we had to drive back to camp...
