Mountain Zebra is a small park but the landscape is absolutely stunning! And of course it's a great place to start of you wanna see mountain zebras!

And of course I kept the best for the end!
We did managed to see a lot of lions and hyaenas, almost everyday. Hyaenas were particularly active in the evenings along camp fences, patrolling in search of scraps left by campers (don(t throw your bones above the fences!!)
Oh and no, we didn't see any wild dogs nor cheetahs but we saw 2 stunning leopards, that kinda compensates right??!!
Early drive and early walk
Scavengers at breakfast
Through the thorns
The king
NO!!
When the queen says no, even the king should listen...
Wanna play mum?
Pride
Spotty!!
Stunning spotted beauty...

Of course, one cannot speak of Kruger without talking of elephants and rhinos. Of these we saw plenty, as well as buffalos. We also saw many nyalas along the rivers and zebras and kudus in driers areas.

Hippo guarded by crocs
The discrete Steinbok

Where to next?
And of course the mighty rhinos...

As I mentioned in the post about the trip in general, KNP was very dry this year so the birdlife was not that exciting. But still we managed to see the feathered creatures quite a lot... Among them Fish eagles and Bateleurs were definitely the most common ones.
