Kruger (Sept 2016): the birds
As I mentioned in the post about the trip in general, KNP was very dry this year so the birdlife was not that exciting. But still we managed to see the feathered creatures quite a lot... Among them Fish eagles and Bateleurs were definitely the most common ones.
Fish eagle overheating
White-faced ducks flying formation
Egyptian goose with a bad temper chases a spoonbill
White-fronted bee-eater with prey
Ok, I went nuts on these bee-eaters, but aren't they pretty??!!
Giant kingfisher on the bridge
Egyptian geese
Blaksmith lapwig
Malachite kingfisher
Pied kingfisher looking for fish
Sadle-billed stork flying off
Grey lour (go away bird)
Hadeda ibis (noisy but pretty)
Blacksmith lapwig chasing a ibis away form its chicks
Red-Billed oxpecker
