• We found this cheetah family of a mother with 4 grown up cubs, resting in the shade by the side of the road. It was late afternoon, so after rolling down, stretching and scanning the surroundings, they set off for prey while we had to drive back to camp...

  • We were lucky enough to see these small predators 3 times during the day. One of them was on its way to the dam when an ostrich decided for whatever reason to chase it away, depriving us of a special moment with it...

  • Bitterpan is a private camp in the dune area between Nossob and Mata Mata. You can only drive the road if you spend a night at the camp and only from Nossob to Mata Mata. The drive is quite nice taking you over red dunes and offering nice panoramas, and the road is not too bumpy. The camp offer a beautiful view over the pan and is located about 150m away from an artificial waterhole.
Unfortunately, when we visited in October 2015, only the Bitter pan waterhole had water, the ones along the way were all dry.

Late evening, we had the privilège to hear and wee a beautiful male leopard walked through the camp to quench his thrusts at the pond next to the camp attendant house, behind the camp! He was prevented to drink form the main waterhole by jackals. He was extremely relaxed when he brushed his way past our cabin.
