Very close to Springbok, there is a small nature reserve called Goegap. It's really lovely and quiet. It offers herd of gemsboks, mountains zebras and springboks as well as many quiver trees of various species and even of "forest" of them. It also has dirt roads, 4x4 trails and even walking trails taking you through the mountains and a nice and cheap camping ground.

Brownies, i.e. brown hyaenas widely occur in the Kalahari. They are particularly adapted to arid conditions.
These were my first ever sightings of them. We saw 2 in the late afternoon coming to drink before spending the night foraging. They are amazingly beautiful animals...
