Written by ShumbAfrica in Field work in Hwange on 13 October 2011 à 11:17We found him early morning close to Togo pans, resting next to a dead elephant. Nic managed to put a dart in him, while he was resting in the shade of an acacia. He then moved off to lye down again ~100m from us and goign to sleep. Nic and Jane from the Lion team wathcing over the new male in town.

We were at the annual Savanna Science Network meeting in Kruger National Park. There, tourism is an industry. It was weird to see so many cars in the park. Vegetattion there is as bushy as in Hwange!
