The Fish River Canyon is the second biggest canyon in the world after the Grand canyon in the States. It is a truly amazing place to see and the main view point offers the most stunning view over the gorges. But take time to visit the other view points, scattered at the top of the cliffs as they all offer their own perspective on this natural wonder. For the braves, you can also take the walk down the gorges, along the river, that takes you from the main view point to Ais-Ais in about 5 days.
You can camp at the Hobbas rest camp operated by NWR, but to be honest, this is not a great place. And be aware there is not cellphone network there (they do sell wifi vouchers though...). Otherwise, you'll have to stay in a chalet at Ais-Ais camp or camp further up the road. But the Hobbas rest camp is the closest to the canyon.

Aus is well known for its herds of desert horses, often coming to drink at the Garub waterhole. You can see them just by driving on the main road en route to Luderitz.
Yes, horses are there! Click on the picture to see it high res!

Namtib is just down the road from NamibRand to Aus. Accommodation is available at the lodge or at 4 campsites 2km away form the houses with a stunning view on the desert plains and a background oh large sand stone boulders.
It is an ideal place to relax and go out for walks exploring the boulders and the plains.

NamibRand is bordering the Namib desert and regroups several farms from which ALL fences have been taken down. This allows the animals to move freely between the sand dunes of the Namib in the East and the mountains in the West.
This is a truly stunning place with 4 high end lodges operated by different groups. But you can cross the reserve freely along the main road C27. If you want to see fairy circles, this is the place!

From the Wilsonfontein fram, getting to Solitaire means crossing the Namib-Naukluft National Park and an amazing scenery!
Solitaire is not even a village, but you will find a petrol station, a basic shop and a renown bakery there, to replenish your supply on your way to/from Sesriem/Sossuvlei. The campsite is now closed, but it is easy to spend a night there at the lodge or guest farm.
