These 2 neighbouring parks are typical of the KZN rolling hills with a few rivers running along. a very good place for elephants, rhinos et other antelopes.

We spent a night in the Safari tents at Mpila resort and I must say it was a great experience. We had the visit of numerous spotted hyaenas in the early evening, just around the brai a couple of meters away from the deck of the tent, such a nice experience!

Hi all, 

I have been quiet as it happens when I'm stuck in the office analysing data and writing papers... Well the view from my office is the following one, so I can't complain either...

So here is a status update: as of the 28th of February 2017, I finished my 2 years post-doctoral fellowship with the UFS working on bat-eared foxes.

While finishing, I started looking for my next job and I was lucky enough to find a pure jewel! 

So if you are looking for me, I will be playing with cheetahs (the actual animal and data) in Namibia starting in May! I will be working with Cheetah Conservation Fund based in Otjiwarango. It is impossible for me to translate how happy I am! Not only I will work on my 3rd large carnivore species, but I will be doing so in Namibia, the very country where I fell in love with Africa back in 1999! 

I will be their Ecologist/ Conservation Scientist working on a lot of projects to provide a  better understanding of cheetahs, their relationships with farmers and communities with the ultimate goal of building sound conservation programs and helping conserving this spotted cat, fattest creature on earth.

And now, time for a well deserved break of 6 weeks in France. Well break, you know what I mean...
